iPhone apps for cancer

Scientists are developing an iPhone application that able to scan for cancers more accurately than nowdays techniques uses in hospital. Remarkably, the time needed just one hour.

The device developed by Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, United States, creating a smartphone application that able to connect to MRI miniature machine.

This application also will allows doctors to analyze what drugs to be use for the patients

“The application of this smartphone is easy to use in the form of interface with measures such as a phone but can send the same data. On the other hand, we must continue to emphasize that the product is a quantitative system without subjectivity or manipulation in processing, “said scientist Dr. Cesar Castro.

During  the first trial, the system has only 88% accuracy when distinguishing stomach cancer with benign tumors. However, these techniques continue to grow rapidly into an accuracy of 100% today, according to a report in the journal Science Translational Medicine.

In the future, the system in this smartphone will be able to scan brain disease, skin or ovarian cancer quickly and accurately. Interestingly, the device is  only cost 60 pounds.
